More than 50 vendors with offer services to help plan a wedding including banquet halls, DJ entertainment, photography, gowns and tuxedos, hair and makeup, travel, jewelry, videography, cakes, flowers, reception hall decorations, invitations and bachelorette parties. Many of the vendors will give away prizes.

Sharon Osbourne agreed, calling the act “spectacular.”

Such went the comments of the America’s Got Talent judges in response to the artistry of a Lightwire Theater performance. 

Now, area residents have the opportunity to see what inspired AGT’s judges and audiences as Lightwire Theater, in correlation with Corbian Visual Arts and Dance, tell the stories of THE UGLY DUCKLING and THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE, Saturday, February 23 at 10:00 AM on the Memorial Hall stage.

Fresh on the heels of their break out success, the creators of Darwin the Dinosaur are at it again! In an age when television, computers and video games reign supreme, the folks at Lightwire Theater (in conjunction with Corbian Visual Arts and Dance) bring their use of cutting edge technology, moving sculpture and dance to another unforgettable theatrical experience.

Lightwire’s puppets are human performers dressed in black wearing electroluminescent wires to outline characters. The visual effect is spectacular, and Lightwire takes things a step further by presenting engaging stories. Audiences love the characters and the many comic side effects.

Lightwire’s new show, The Ugly Duckling, is once again a total delight. The company opened the show after returning from the semi-finals of NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

Great Lakes Championship Wrestling (GLCW) and Smashing Pumpkin’s Billy Corgan’s Resistance Pro Wrestling (RPW) are coming together on Saturday, October 20, 2012 to co-promote “Point Of Entry” (POE).  Point Of Entry will showcase the talents of both companies under one roof on one night. The entertainment schedule is coming together with a great line up. Friday the main stage kicks off the festival with Mean Jake from 4:30 to 7pm followed by The Boogie Men from 8pm to 12am. On the tent stage don’t miss Groove Therapy starting at 8pm until 12am. Inside Festival Hall check out Sicilian Serenader’s from 5-9pm .

Saturday July 28th kicks off on the Tent stage 12-1pm The Unified Show Band, 3-7pm Enzo Scarano Band with Stella Raimondi and the night rounds out with The New Invaders from 8pm-12am. But that’s not all! The main stage has the Woody Band 3-7pm and Evolution 8pm-12am. Night Wing will perform inside Festival Hall 4-8pm.

How We Got Started

Marcus Hanel (otherwise known as “Koos”) is a Racine native. He has always had a a desire to help children. Before Koos for Kids began, he had been helping other nationwide, charitable organizations. He enjoyed it very much, but really wanted to give back to the local community and impact lives immediately.

In the summer of 2004, Marcus was approached by Tom Chlebos to begin his own charity. He was very excited about the idea. Marcus made it his mission to help children and share his love of Christ with them. Now, he just needed a team to help him get started…

Over the course of a couple months, he formed a committee of five people. In January of 2005, they came up with the name, “Koos for Kids”, and decided to focus on helping terminally ill and disadvantaged children in the local area.  The first official fundraiser was a success the charity grew quickly.

Koos for Kids helps children in a few different ways.  Over the years, they have been able to help numerous terminally ill children by purchasing them laptops, ipads, zoo passes, airplane tickets, a puppy, whatever it is that makes their life a little brighter. They’ve purchased over 3000 winter coats for disadvantaged children in the local area, organized and ran the Challenger Baseball League where over 60 children with special needs can come and be part of a team and learn the game of baseball. There are many other ways they have helped the local community as well thanks to the support from local individuals and businesses.
